Healthy Diet: Chicken is healthier - MINUS THE SKIN

Planning on revamping our fridge with healthier food options?

Once a week, all of us would hit the groceries and shop for food. Why not take a look at that chicken?

Chicken - thought as a healthier kind of animal meat - but chicken meat can be the more healthier minus the skin. Why? 100grams of raw chicken breast without skin, for example, contains 110 calories ONLY.

Why without that yummy skin? Here is some reasons why.

Chicken Skin included, 110 calories jumps up to 170 calories with saturated fat being a big chunk of this big jump. Saturated fat when consumed by us, it is converted in to LDL or "bad" cholesterol. LDL is circulated through the bloodstream, and in excess, gets deposited in the arteries which causes narrowing of these arteries; with narrowing arteries, it increases the risk for heart problems and strokes.

So, with the skin off chicken is healthier.

How do we cook it to make it even more healthier?

Research points that, using oils low in saturated fat and high in unsaturated fat - such as canola oil, olive oil, and sunflower oil  - will 90-100% boost the health benefits of eating lean chicken meat.

Therefore, when doing groceries - Chicken without the yummy skin is a healthier option Always.

Want To Be Healthy? Get Some Sleep!

Most of us have busy days and hectic work schedules. And not to mention, a boat load of work to finish. But, to cope up with these stress levels you want to be healthy. You opt to drink lots and lots of vitamins and supplements just to be so called healthy. But, the question is are you really healthy?

Well, the answer is maybe. Our bodies are not machines that you can just leave on for hours and hours. Wait, even machines wear down. How much more a human body, right? So, what you need is some much needed rest of around 8 hours. This is ideal to maintain or improve health. Why do we need sleep?

Duh! It is no brainer! We all need sleep to get some rest and for our body's machineries to rest.

So, we benefit from sleep in numerous ways. Here are some good benefits we get when sleeping.


  • Rest! Our bodies relax and regain energy sources.
  • Increase hormones in our body. It is a fact that when we sleep we secrete hormones that help our bodies function better. (And on side note: Everytime we get stressed, we tend to get fatter)
  • Increase enzymes in our body that help with our bodily function
  • Increase and improve your immune system
  • Helps your capability to remember things
Most of the things, that sleep provides you are good and needed to maintain and improve health.

A Great Way to Stay Healthy – Drink Some Alcohol



With new studies being performed each year on how to stay healthy, we cannot deny that the debate concerning alcohol being good for the health has been going on for decades. Most people think drinking alcohol is bad for your health, and it is seen as a vice that destroys a person’s well-being. But luckily, new studies have proven that alcohol especially red wine is very beneficial to one’s health.  These studies have shown, that a person that drinks alcohol mildly will have decrease chances of having cardiovascular diseases, decreases chances of arteries and blood vessels hardening, decrease chances of having high blood pressure and most importantly it is said to increase life expectancy. No wonder, why the people of old drank wine and lived longer than us.
Well, we all know that the saying, “too much of everything is bad for your health”, will always hold true right? So, if alcohol is taken in moderate amounts; therefore, it is safe to say it is healthy. But, how much alcohol is good? Studies have shown that drinking 1 glass of wine or a glass of beer is beneficial to your health. But, keep in mind and always remember, it only says 1 GLASS! Please DO NOT OVER DO IT!
This is good news for you guys, who just like to drink to socialize. So, always remember to drink ONLY 1 glass of wine or beer. I really like to STRESS on ONE GLASS, because anything more than that is already totally wrong.

Did you know that our bodies are made up of 60% water? Hence, the reason why the human body is dependent of water for its survival. In fact, water is used by our bodies in almost all processes it performs from temperature regulation to excretion of waste products. Due to this reasons our bodies also loose water in these processes, therefore it is ideal to replenish our body's water stores.

Now let us talk about how will you know if you are dehydrated?

It is done to ensure that you are readily hydrated and your body's osmolarity is maintained.

Dehydration causes your body's balance to be disturbed causing your body to malfunction. So, it is ideal for you to always maintain your body's hydration state at equilibrium at all times.
